Body Image

The Contemporary Movement examines one of societites most challenging issues, Body Image. How does one look and feel beautiful just the way they are? What does it mean to be pretty? What does pretty look like? And perhaps most importantly, how do you inspire the confidence in yourself to feel beautiful no matter what?

Through discussion questions and worksheets dancers will have the oportunity to form opinions,

develop a voice and consider what it might be like for others who struggle to love themselves and their own body. Additionally, dancers will take a stand to say that no matter how tall, short, fat, or thin; no matter what color your hair, eyes or the color of your skin are, it is what is on the inside that matters the most.

Each and every person is beautiful just the way they are.

Accompanying the discussions, dancers will participate in choreographed movement, learning a dance that demonstrates the path to self acceptance and love. Join the movement and take a stand to create a

nation of individuals that love and care for themselves.
